The Fountain City Classic is more than just a football game — it’s a celebration of tradition, education, and community impact, bringing together alumni, students, and fans from across the country for a full weekend of events.
The 35th Annual Fountain City Classic will be played on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at A.J. McClung Memorial Stadium in Columbus, Georgia. The game will once again feature Albany State University against Fort Valley State University, renewing one of the most storied rivalries in HBCU football. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET.
Fountain City Classic – Media Access Overview & Terms of Coverage
We are excited to welcome credentialed media to cover the 35th Annual Fountain City Classic. Media representatives interested in covering the 2025 Fountain City Classic must apply for credentials by completing the online credential request form. Confirmation emails will be sent upon submission; however, submitting a request does not guarantee approval. The Fountain City Classic reserves the right to deny or revoke credentials at any time. Please note: SIAC conference passes will be accepted as valid credentials.
To ensure a smooth and mutually beneficial experience, please review the following guidelines and expectations for all approved media outlets:
Credential Access
- Approved outlets will receive official FCC media credentials for access to designated media areas (press box, sidelines, and/or pre-approved event spaces).
- Credentials are non-transferable and must be visibly worn at all times while on-site.
Content Sharing Requirements
In exchange for media access, all outlets agree to the following terms:
- All photos and video footage captured during the event must be shared with the Fountain City Classic Media Team within 48 hours of the event’s conclusion.
- Content should be sent via WeTransfer with a 7 day minimum download time to: media@fountaincityclassic.com
- All social media content related to the FCC (including pregame, game day, and postgame coverage) must include official FCC tags and hashtags:
- Tag: @FountainCityClassic (on Facebook & Instagram)
- Hashtags: #ClassicMagic35 #FountainCityClassic #FCCWeekend
Brand Representation
- All FCC logos, graphics, and related branding used in media coverage must be approved FCC assets. Logos can be requested by emailing: media@fountaincityclassic.com
- FCC reserves the right to re-share or repost any submitted or tagged content across its official platforms with credit given to the outlet/photographer.
Coverage Expectations
- Media are expected to uphold professional standards in covering the event, with a focus on accuracy, positive community representation, and respect for players, staff, and attendees.
- FCC encourages coverage of all major components of the event, including:
- The football game
- Battle of the Drumlines
- Halftime Show
- Scholarship Presentations
- Classic Challenge Events
Limitations
- Live streaming of the game or events is not permitted without prior written approval from the FCC Media Team.
- Drones or other aerial devices are prohibited unless previously authorized by FCC in coordination with stadium and city policies.
